Kelsey Thompson brings wide-ranging experience in multiple industries and on a variety of platforms, adding significant depth to the firm. Kelsey’s diverse skillset includes organizational management, government affairs, and partnership engagement. Through Lents Mazur & Associates, Kelsey’s primary focus is on project management.
For the last six years Kelsey led the work of the Missouri Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (MOAAP) as the Executive Director. MOAAP is the leading voice for children’s health in the state, as well as the membership organization for Missouri pediatricians. Prior to her work with MOAAP, Kelsey was a mover and shaker at the most senior levels of Missouri state government. Most recently, she managed scheduling and operations for Governor Jay Nixon. Before joining the governor’s office, she worked multiple election cycles focusing on public affairs, partner engagement, community outreach, as well as organizational management and operations. Kelsey has over 15 years of experience combined in Missouri politics and government, including managing Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s 2008 campaign where Carnahan was reelected, receiving more than 1.7 million votes – at the time the most votes ever cast for a candidate in Missouri history.
Kelsey is a life-long Missourian, born in Monroe City and now living in Columbia; she understands well the urban, exurban and rural landscapes. She received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the University of Missouri. Kelsey and her husband Danny are the busy parents of two young boys.
